HLT30207 Certificate III in Non-Emergency Client Transport
This is the entry level qualification for those seeking employment in the non-emergency patient transport industry in Victoria. Furthermore it is a prerequisite for employment as a Patient Transport officer (PTO) in the non-emergency patient transport sector in Victoria.
The course is conducted over 16 to17 weeks, with the classes being held on Tuesday evenings from 5.45 pm to 8.45 pm and approximately every second Saturday from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm approximately.
There will be two courses in 2010 with course “A” commencing on 02/02/2010 and course “B” on 08/06/2010.
There is a requirement for you to be available to attend up to 10 days during the week to complete some aspects of the course (driving, clinical placement and observer shifts)
You must be competent at driving a manual vehicle
Course Fee: $3,800.00 (includes all course materials)
This price may reduce if RPL is granted based on RPL application (final cost can only be given after assessment of RPL application).

The course comprises fifteen units of competency. Also to meet the requirements of some sectors of the industry, the course also includes HLTAMB402B Transport emergency clients.

Course entry pre-requisites:
- Year 12 or equivalent or mature age entry
- Able to read and write in English
- First Aid Certificate (HLT301B or equivalent)
- Consent to check and release National Police Record (Australia)
- No known physical restrictions
- Able to lift weights consistent with patient movement and handling requirements
- Sign a student agreement
HLT50407 Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance)
This qualification is the base qualification for the senior clinician in the non-emergency patient transport vehicle. The qualification is offered as a bridging course from the Certificate III in Non-Emergency Client transport so that the Patient Transport Officer (PTO) can progress from PTO and become an Ambulance Transport Attendant (ATA) if desired.
The course is conducted over 22 weeks utilising distant education principles via a workbooks and web based learning supported by 6 of face-to-face workshops.
The face-to-face workshops are conducted Saturdays from 9:00am to 5:00pm There is also a requirement for clinical placement consisting of four 8 to 10 hour shifts. Dates and time to be advised. The course delivery is by face-to-face tuition, self-paced learning, case-based and learning and E-learning.

- Current employment in Non-Emergency Patient Transport Industry (Employer endorsement)
- A minimum of twelve months full time or equivalent part time employment totalling at least 1920 hours.
- No known physical restrictions and able to lift weights consistent with patient movement and handling requirements.
- Consent to check and release National Police Record (Australia)
- A full unrestricted Victorian Drivers License
- Attend a pre-selection interview and pre-test
